The variety of venues that have high definition TV sets
High definition TV - It’s everywhere you go
Whether we are in a hotel on holiday abroad or in the local pub, you can almost guarantee there will be a flat screen TV or large video projection canvas system. Any bar owner in the UK or overseas knows that without providing their customers with modern flat panel TV screens they are not keeping up with today’s demands. Most people that go out for the evening like to have the option of seeing what’s happening in a sporting event or political rally. One of the many innovative ideas that has developed from this modern day wish to have access to HD TV whenever possible, are TV’s in toilets. The very popular chain of sports bars in the UK and Europe quite cleverly came up with the idea of providing their customers with wall mounted tellies in the lavatory. This enables the patron to rest assured that he won’t miss a moment of the premiership match that’s being played that day whilst he spends a penny. One thing that must have been noticed by any sharp marketing team of a pub is how many men stand at the windows of electrical stores watching an HDMI ready TV when shopping with their wives. Whilst his partner is trying to decide on which amber earrings to buy, her chap is engrossed in the clash between Manchester united and Aston Villa. And because of the quality of HD capable TV’s being sold today, he’s quite likely to pop into the store to make a purchase.

In-Flight Movies
There was a time when you had to be flying business class to enjoy the kind of quality TV technology they have on board planes today. Depending on which airline you choose to travel with can make a bit of difference to what degree you are provided with cutting-edge HD capable TV entertainment. Almost all economy class flights have a mega-sized television at the front and in the centre of each block of seats. In addition to this, many modern commercial aircrafts are fitted with small TV sets at the back of every passenger’s seat. These miniature tellies with high resolution pictures are sunk into the seat which is directly in front of you, making your trip even more comfortable as you watch the in-flight movies. Once you’ve finished reading the airlines promotional magazine with items of silver bracelets, necklaces and other jewellery being advertised on their pages, it’s time to relax and enjoy whatever they’re showing today. Even before boarding the plane, passengers can enjoy the modern day comforts of LCD TV sets strategically placed around the departure lounge. For those of you who may have been travelling for a while and are now in a transit lounge, it’s nice to be able to watch a widescreen TV to catch up on the news. If you fly to some of the countries in South East Asia for the first time, you may be shocked to see that the airport taxi driver is enjoying watching his high definition TV whilst taking you to your hotel.

Waiting Rooms
If you are anything like me, then you’ll hate spending lengthy amounts of time waiting to be served in a bank or travel agency. Any business in the service industry that wants to retain their customers will do everything they can to make waiting time relatively pleasant. Nobody likes being at their local dentist, dreading the thought of having more root canal work done. Any dentist practise with sense would provide a wall-mounted TV for the patients to take their mind off the ensuing sound of the drill. If you’re lucky enough to be in a waiting room with a big TV which is HD ready, you may get a chance to see some commercials on beautiful Indian gemstone jewellery. These types of earrings, bracelets and other designs are becoming very popular with today’s consumers. Sometimes, crowded rooms with people waiting to be served can get a little heated with people’s tempers beginning to fray after an hour or so. Many places that have unavoidable lengthy queues due to the nature of their business such as immigration offices around the world, attempt to appease their visitors by providing refreshments and modern large screened televisions. Having a good quality DVD recorder at home whilst you wait for your wife in her place of work’s reception area, will give you peace of mind that you’re recording the big game that kicked off five minutes ago. You may even have the option of watching it on the reception area’s own huge digital television.

TV’s at Work
There are many types of job’s that could be classed as mundane or even boring. Some employees at a shop have to spend eight hours or more a day waiting for a customer to come through the door. One solution that bosses have found effective in keeping their sales staff alert at all times is providing a discreet TV for their amusement. As long as the employee realises that their main focus should be on any potential customer and not the crystal clear pictures of an HD television, it seems to work just fine. Some nightshift security guards bring in their own DVD player to watch a movie to help reduce the boredom. Of course, doing this could lead to them losing their job. However, many managers of hotels or holiday resorts don’t mind their security team having a telly to watch if it will assist in keeping them awake on a night shift. Sometimes a 42inch TV such as the popular Insignia range is installed in a business premises solely for the entertainment purposes of the visiting customer. Any receptionist stuck behind a desk all day in the visitors lounge of a company providing classy or vintage jewellery, will be happy see a new HD ready telly replace the old standard definition one. Many schools are purchasing upscaling DVD player models to enable the use of old DVD’s as an effective teaching tool. The older standard definition videos on them can be converted into HD, enhancing both the audio and video quality.
